 My great great grandmother

Great Great Grandmother Julia
Taken about 1916 Durant OK

Well lately I have been interested in finding out my roots. Genealogy has been kind of curiosity thing but with the internet and all the new info added daily it is easier than ever. I joined a ancestry website a few months back and boy has it been worth it. In fact through that site I was actually able to find a cousin I never met and with the info in his tree I gained a wealth of information over night. There happened to be some cousins nearby and I was even able to meet up with them. They were actually cousins my dad remembered from his childhood years in Oklahoma so theres was actually a fact of being reunited. It was pretty neat to be able to do that. Anyway, through my online cousin I was excited to see pic's of family that I had only ever heard stories about. It was pretty exciting to be able to go back so many generations and see similarities in physical attributes in myself and other family members. I think at this point I have already been able to trace back my dad's mom's side of the family to about 1800. My great great grandmother come to find out was a full blood american indian. She went to register with the Dawes rolls (or something of that nature) and was told that she was one day to late. How frustrating and sad for her. But anyway, I thought it pretty cool to say, "Hey she looks like me!" LOL ~Til next time DEB

 A real rarity

A few days ago we were getting ready to pull into our driveway but had to wait for a car to pass. We were upset to see the passing car hit a cardinal. It was just flipping around in the middle of the road so we decided to atleast set it on the shoulder to keep it from being hit again. My son being the way he is decided to give it a look over to see how badly it was hurt. Of course his sister wanted to see and they were going to find a box hoping it wasn't to terribly hurt and could nurse it back to health. I think it is just so amazing how the bird is nuzzling him like it knew he would take good care of it. I decided to grab my camera because it isn't that often you can get that close to a cardinal. I kid you not that after about 10 minutes or so of my son loving on that bird it up and flew away. WOW amazing! We were sure it's wing had been broken. I am guessing that it was probably just stunned. I love a good ending. I also really love this picture.

 Baby it's hot outside

You know it is hot outside when the dog starts sitting in the water dish LOL We recently bought a little kids pool for our dogs so that they could cool off if they did get to hot. We took our sons pug "BooBoo" and set him in the pool to see if he might enjoy it. Well he really did. Maybe to much so. Now we can't seem to keep him out of the water dish either. LOL Not like they ever get the chance to overheat because everyday about 3 PM we let the dogs come in for a nap. Pugs can overheat if the temperatures go above 80 degrees. So we are careful to watch out for him. Now he seems to think that the water dish is just for him to sit in. Before you know it the water in the dish is real murky brown and we end up changing their water several times a day. Oh boy~ He is one funny character to say the least. I am not sure he is even using the pool anymore.

 What a fake

Recently my youngest daughter got married. Well as with most we had a strict budget to stick to. So I did alot of the decorations myself. It felt like I was running on little to no sleep for about 5 weeks straight. One of the ideas I came up with was to decorate the tables with little fake cakes. These pics are what I came up with. They were all different colors and about the size of a dessert plate. I really enjoyed doing them and ended up giving almost every one of them away afterwards. I enjoy sharing my crafts as much as I enjoy doing them. God bless DEB

Some were even fooled into thinking they were real and tried to cut them LOL

 It all depends....

Recently my oldest sister turned 50 years old. I wanted to come up with an idea for a gift she would never forget. So I decided to make her a cake made of depends adult diapers. LOL To decorate the cake I added items such as denture cream, senior vitamins, muscle rub, etc. I hope she gets as big of a kick out of it as I intend for her to. We will know soon when she receives it. I added some frillies to it such as flowers and ribbons. I thought it was a hoot. Hope your day is blessed DEB
