The Gown With The Split Down The Back

I was sittin' here mindin' my business
Kinda lettin' my mind go slack,
When in comes a nurse with a birhgt sunny smile,
And a gown with a splint down the back.

"Take a shower", she said, "and get ready,
And then jump into this sack."
What she was really talkin' about,
Was the gown with the split down the back.

"They are coming to do some tests," she said.
They're gonna stretch me out on a rack,
With nothing twixt me and the cold cruel world,
But a gown that's split down the back!

It only comes to the knees in front,
In the sides there is also a lack,
But by fat the greatest shortcoming,
Is that bloomin' split down the back.

Whoever designed this garment
For humor had a knack,
But I fail to see anything funny
'Bout a gown that's split down the back!!!!

When I get to heaven, it'll make me no odds,
If my robe is white, red, or black.
The only thing I'll ask is "Please,
Give me one with no split down the back."

Ok so the kids are grown and my husband and I are enjoying some new freedom that comes with that fact. Tonight we decide we will go and have a bite at the mexican food restaurant. We sit, we order they bring those wonderful chips that I love. Life is good. Good conversation etc. They bring our dinners, we say our grace and proceed to do what so many others in the restaurant are doing-EAT! I like to mix my rice and beans and eat them with the tortilla chips they bring. So I mix, dip, eat.....mix, dip, eat.....MMMMM I am happy. I felt like I was half starved because I had been packing all day. Maybe I was a bit to excited to be eating.....LOL Next thing I know I feel a chip slice down the inside of my gums. I am like ouch that hurt. But I guess I didn't realize right away how badly I was cut. You can bet I figured it out when my mouth filled up with blood. Alan was like UH you should go in the ladies room and check that out...Ok! I go in there and blood was just flowing endlessly. I go back out to the table. It takes about 20 minutes for us to decide that this is something that needed to be looked at. We go to the Urgent care. Guess what~they had never had this situation present it self in their facility. HEHE They just don't know how unique I am! The doctor said the chip acted like a knife and had fillet my gums open. The first layer of my gums had been sliced open and peeled back. Oh my word! It took about 1 1/2 hours for him to get the bleeding to stop. He finally had to cauterize my gums 3 times to stop the bleeding........so after a few laughs about it, a few dollars later and the fact that I never did get to eat my dinner I am home and thinking "What are the chances????? So how was your day???? 'Til next time

Isn't it funny how time seems to be going so slow at one moment and then it's like all of a sudden you wonder where on earth did time go? Right now I am in the middle of packing to move to Oklahoma. When I first started packing it seemed like I had plenty of time to get things done and in an organized manner. So I set out at what I thought was a pretty good pace, a little here and a little there. I probably had atleast a good 6 weeks to get the job done. OK now time to kick it up a notch because I have about 2 1/2 weeks to get it done. OH NO where did all the time go????? LOL
This happens in all areas of our lives. I have never understood an organized person. How does someone do that? My husbands grandmother is that way....

A place for everything and everything in its place!!! Oh how I have tried to no avail. Maybe I am just organized in my own way

But time is one thing in our lives we just can't control...we can't make it go slower and we can't speed it up. Tonight while I was packing pictures (in new totes so that they would be more organized...(LOL) I saw the many pics of the kids and thought? "Where has time gone?" Not just our 3 but between us we have 2 dozen niecies and nephews and about 1/2 dozen great nieces and nephews. WOW I think I just gained a well deserved new gray hair Anyway I like to look around and see things that we as humans cannot control ie. time, weather, seasons etc. When I watch these things it just amazes me at how wonderful and amazing God is. I have a friend who has always said how much they wished they could understand God's time. But we don't and we can't.

Ok I must quit procrastinating and get back to work...the clock is ticking 'Til next time

Wow what a bittersweet night. My son is a missionary apprentice and will be leaving Friday to head for his field in Utah. Tomorrow he will also turn 19 years old. I am SO very proud of him. That is sweet. The bitter part is having to say goodbye For a farewell sendoff for him we had sundaes on a Wednesday after church service tonight. What a great time of fellowship. I think I actually enjoy the time of fellowship over the ice cream. I am not really a big ice cream fan. Is that just weird? I do like ice cream sandwiches...HEHE Well that is my Wednesday evening in a nutshell. LOL
