 A bad day fishing...

WOW what beautiful weather we are having here in Western NC. Spring is in the air (my allergies say so). Today I had the day off so we took advantage of it and went fishing. None of us caught a thing. *sigh* There was work to be done so we took an intermission and intend to go back out this evening. Maybe we will have better luck then. But you know what they say, "A bad day fishing is better than a good day at work". LOL If I ever figure out how to include pic's with my post I will do so and show you just how much fun we had. For now we are headed out to have some more fun. I hope everyone else is having as blessed a day..."Til next time

 Touching....

Your son is here

A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman to the bedside.

"Your son is here," she said to the old man.
She had to repeat the words several times before the patient's eyes opened. Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart attack, he dimly saw the young uniformed Marine standing outside the oxygen tent. He reached out his hand.

The Marine wrapped his toughened fingers around the old man's limp ones, squeezing a message of love and encouragement. The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine could sit beside the bed. All through the night the young Marine sat there in the poorly lighted ward, holding the old man's hand and offering
him words of love and strength. Occasionally, the nurse suggested that the Marine move away and rest awhile. He refused.

Whenever the nurse came into the ward, the Marine was
oblivious of her and of the night noises of the hospital - the clanking of the oxygen tank,
the laughter of the night staff members
exchanging greetings, the cries and moans of the other patients. Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The dying man said nothing, only held
tightly to his son all through the night.

Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell the nurse. While she did what she had to do, he waited.

Finally, she returned. She started to offer words of sympathy, but the Marine interrupted her. "Who was that man?" he asked. The nurse was startled, "He was your father," she answered. "No, he wasn't," the Marine replied. "I never saw him before in my life."
"Then why didn't you say something when I took you to him?" "I knew right away there had been a mistake, but I also knew he needed his son, and his son just wasn't here. When I realized that he was too sick
to tell whether or not I was his son, knowing how much he needed me, I stayed."

The next time someone needs you ... just be there. Stay.

HAVE A GREAT DAY AND BLESS SOMEONE IN SOME LITTLE WAY TODAY!

GOD IS SOOOOOOOOOO GOOD.

I didn't write this but thought it was pretty nice and wanted to share it. If you do know who wrote it let me know. Having many family members in the military I could see this happening

 A good laugh

My daughter had sent this to me and I thought it would fun to share for a giggle or two! I had seen it before but enjoyed it just as much this time. Hope everyoned day is blessed.
====================================================================

In case you needed further proof that the human race is doomed through stupidity, here are some actual label instructions on consumer goods. Kinda makes you wonder where these warnings came from...

On a Sears hairdryer -- Do not use while sleeping.
(That's the only time I have to work on my hair.)

==============================

On a bag of Fritos -- You could be a winner! No purchase necessary. Details inside.
(the shoplifter special?)

============================

On a bar of Dial soap -- "Directions: Use like regular soap."
(and that would be???....)

============================

On some Swanson frozen dinners -- "Serving suggestion: Defrost."
(but, it's just a suggestion.)

============================

On Tesco's Tiramisu dessert (printed on bottom) -- "Do not turn upside down."
(well...duh, a bit late, huh!)

=============================

On Marks &Spencer Bread Pudding -- "Product will be hot after heating."
(...and you thought????...)

============================

On packaging for a Rowenta iron -- "Do not iron clothes on body."
(but wouldn't this save me time?)

==============================

On Boot's Children Cough Medicine -- "Do not drive a car or operate machinery after taking this medication."
(We could do a lot to reduce the rate of construction accidents if we could just get those 5 year-olds with head-colds off those bulldozers.)

=============================

On Nytol Sleep Aid -- "Warning: May cause drowsiness."
(...I'm taking this because???....)

==============================

On most brands of Christmas lights -- "For indoor or outdoor use only."
(as opposed to what?)

=============================

On a Japanese food processor -- "Not to be used for the other use."
(now, somebody out there, help me on this. I'm a bit curious.)

==============================

On Sainsbury's peanuts -- "Warning: contains nuts."
(talk about a news flash)

=============================

On an American Airlines packet of nuts -- "Instructions: Open packet, eat nuts."
(Step 3: say what?)

=============================

On a child's Superman costume -- "Wearing of this garment does not enable you to fly."
(I don't blame the company. I blame the parents for this..

===============================

On a Swedish chainsaw -- "Do not attempt to stop chain with your hands or genitals."
(Oh my gosh ..was there a lot of this happening somewhere?)

 Sundays..

I love Sundays. It is my most favorite day of the week. It is the day that I get to share with my christian family all in the same frame of mind to worship our Father. It is the foundation that shapes the rest of my week. As I drive to church and see others out running around shopping and doing yard work I just can't imagine how they would want to trade these things for worship? I was that way for to long in my life and it never brought me the peace of mind like Sundays with my Father do now! Don't get me wrong, I spend everyday serving my Father but on Sundays I am blessed enough to also share it with my christian family. God is so very good...off to church now "Til next time

 Footprints...........

Footprints
Author Unknown

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

My husband and I have been married for 24 years now. During the past 24 years we have reflected back on this story and feel it best describes our walk with the Lord. There are just to many times where we can reflect upon trials we have endured and upon looking back we know that it is our Fathers footprints we see as He carried us through. So many times it's just to easy to get angry at God and question "WHY" have you done this to me? It isn't that God has done anything to us; what we must remember is the fact that when things do go wrong, if we allow God to carry us through He will never fail us. Of course my point here is the fact that WE must be willing to allow our Father to carry us through, HE is just waiting for us to ask! Believe me when I tell you this because I am speaking from experience, the loss of my husbands and my own brothers, the loss of 2 nieces and 1 nephew, the loss of our first son and the challenges of raising a mentally ill child. There are so many other trials that we have faced but believe me when I tell you that...God is good! 'Til next time
