Wow what a bittersweet night. My son is a missionary apprentice and will be leaving Friday to head for his field in Utah. Tomorrow he will also turn 19 years old. I am SO very proud of him. That is sweet. The bitter part is having to say goodbye For a farewell sendoff for him we had sundaes on a Wednesday after church service tonight. What a great time of fellowship. I think I actually enjoy the time of fellowship over the ice cream. I am not really a big ice cream fan. Is that just weird? I do like ice cream sandwiches...HEHE Well that is my Wednesday evening in a nutshell. LOL 'Til next time......DEB
Oh Deb, I know the feeling of a son leaving home. I had a lump in my throat so big I could hardly talk. (He was 19 too...19 1/2) and the job (7 hours away) and a chance to learn diesel mechanics hands on, just fell into his lap. (His uncle offered him the opportunity.) He came home about every two weeks though and I guess your son won't be able to do that.
Your son is leaving for a more noble cause at the time though, and that will certainly bring you comfort at this stage of his life. He's a very nice young man! I'm glad we got to meet him! You are in my prayers.
